This little dog was found in early October in the streets of Monterrey Park. She lived at the San Gabriel Humane Society where they named her Alice. She came home with me on the Monday after Thanksgiving. As you can see above - life is really good now. We go to training weekly - she made it through the puppy class and is now in intermediate. She is excellent in the house. Loves people, although she likes to intimidate men when she first meets them. We are having some trouble learning "doggie manners" meeting other dogs is a challenge. We are working on it --seriously. Anyway she is definitely an under cover pup.Sunday, April 10, 2011

I do know this - -
I'm putting together a list of things I've learned the hard way. It's not ready for the public eye - but here's an example: If you are holding a soda in your hand, and you drop your keys, do something with the soda before you bend over to pick up those keys - - unless you really WANT to pour soda on your shoes. More on the way !!!!!
correction
So I was reading the previous post and noticed some typos - I went to the edit function to correct them - but can not make it work so this is just to acknowledge that I am aware that there are some goofs. That is all for now.

Life goes on

The day before Thanksgiving, after weeks if perusing the internet, I went to the San Gabriel Humane Society. I wanted to see, in person, the little Mini Pincer I had seen online. They called her Alice and she answers to that name. She had been at the shelter since mid-October. I wnt back for her on the day after Thanksgiving. She was spayed early that morning and I picked her up around 4pm. We spent the week end with her in my lap. The photo of me holding her (I'm saying "good puppy) is from her graduation from beginning training. She weighed an emaciated 5 1/2 pounds then but the vet wanted her "filled out" so now she is a solid 9 pounds. She loves attacking and chasing her toys. She throws them in the air and chases them. She's a real joy in the house, and a challenge on the leash - but she's improving. Since she responds so well to the name they gave her at the shelter I let her keep it. She starts out in her own bed but in the middle of the night she sneaks under the covers. The vet says not to worry he has two mini pins and they do the same thing.
